MACSA 1st Annual Conference
Saturday, March 4th, 2006

The Mid-Atlantic
Caribbean Students’ Association
(MACSA) will hold its first annual conference
this Spring. We hope that this conference, will
aid in servicing the organizational needs of the Caribbean
students of the MD/DC/VA/Delaware area. The conference will
serve as a gathering place for students and alumni who wish to
network and build relationships, whether it be professional or personal.
Attendees will attend educational workshops and lectures that are proctored
by prominent professors/professionals. The conference, themed “Building the
Foundation will be March 4th, 2006 at the University of Maryland, College Park. The

purpose of the conference is to provide attendees with tools to build and maintain valuable networking skills. To educate participants about their history and provide them
with much needed knowledge about opportunities for Caribbean Students
beyond the college experience. We plan to have many exciting
educational and social events at this conference. We
approximate that 200 students from Maryland
and surroundings area will be in attendance
at this conference. We would like to
express our excitement about
your school and its CSA
members participating
in this event.

The last part of the MACSA mission is perhaps the most important. Our intention in hosting this inaugural event is to inspire the Caribbean student groups in attendance to take ownership of MACSA and continue in the spirit of education, networking, unity, and leadership by hosting it at different campuses every year. Our vision is for our mission to be passed from school to school in the hopes that this will facilitate the growth and unity that we are building the groundwork for with this first conference.
